Atlantic City High School celebrated the 30th anniversary of its iconic Battle By the Bay basketball tournament with a thrilling 63–43 victory over Pleasantville High School. The event, founded in 1995 to prepare teams for postseason play and raise funds for student scholarships, has become a beloved tradition, drawing top teams from across the region and bringing both communities together for a spirited competition.

Nazifah Afra won the Black History-themed spelling bee at Texas Avenue School by correctly spelling "demonstration." The event, sponsored by CHORUS and Caesars Entertainment, celebrated African American history and literacy while inspiring students to strive for excellence.

The New York Avenue School Parents Advisory Council meeting drew over 100 attendees for a fun and engaging event aimed at boosting attendance habits. Through a 12-day Knowlej competition, families came together to encourage consistent school attendance, with parents participating in exciting "Minute to Win It" games while their children cheered them on. The event, led by Social Emotional Learning Coach Laurie Egrie, successfully promoted a partnership between families and the school to start the new year on the right track.

The energy was electric at Atlantic City High School as Cheer: The Ultimate Showdown 2025 brought together the most spirited and talented cheerleaders from across the district. The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. School Complex team stole the show, securing back-to-back victories with an unforgettable performance. More than just a competition, the event highlighted teamwork, dedication, and the power of school spirit. As spectators cheered and teams gave their all, it became clear that The Ultimate Showdown was about more than winning—it was about celebrating the heart and soul of Atlantic City’s young athletes.

The Chinese New Year celebration with IMUSA was nothing short of magical! Guests came together to enjoy games, food, music, and dance, embracing the rich traditions of this special holiday. With laughter, culture, and connection at the heart of the event, we couldn’t have asked for a better way to welcome the Year of the Snake!

Residents 55+ came together for a special Valentine’s Day lunch, enjoying delicious meals, fun activities, and heartfelt moments. With a packed house and a waitlist, it’s clear that community connections matter. We can’t wait to do it again on March 14th—join us!
