The Atlantic City Fire Department is the first established fire department on Absecon Island and enjoys a long tradition as a leader in South Jersey, particularly in Atlantic County, for being at the forefront in the implementation and use of the latest equipment and firefighting techniques available. This tradition will continue as our Training and Special Operation Divisions adjust and adapt new techniques to address the ever-changing physical landscape that is Atlantic City.

City of Atlantic City Launches New Small Business Grant Program to Aid COVID-19 Recovery
In a bold step to support local businesses, the City of Atlantic City launched its Small Business Grant Program on January 16, 2025, providing up to $10,000 in aid for businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to help small businesses recover and thrive, offering critical financial support for working capital expenses like payroll and rent. Applications are open until April 1, 2025, and an informational webinar is set for January 22, 2025.

Empowering the Future: Atlantic City Celebrates First Cohort of Raising Kings and Queens Program
The Raising Kings and Queens Program, launched by Atlantic City’s Reentry Services, celebrated its first cohort of graduates on February 6, 2025, in a heartfelt luncheon. Participants, ages 14-18, engaged in mentorship, etiquette training, and hands-on experiences over the course of 10 weeks, gaining essential life skills for their future. With the support of community leaders like Mayor Marty Small and Director Kamau Johnson, the program has proven to be a stepping stone to a brighter, more empowered future for Atlantic City's youth.
