The City of Atlantic City recently celebrated Women’s History Month with a heartfelt Women’s Empowerment Luncheon on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Hosted by the Mayor’s Office of Special Events, the gathering brought the community together in a sea of purple to honor local women making a difference.
Among those recognized were Henrietta Shelton, President and CEO of the Chicken Bone Beach Historical Foundation, Inc., and Kiyia Harris, Strategic Community Program Coordinator in the City’s Community Block Development Grant (CDBG) Office. Both women were acknowledged for their outstanding contributions and unwavering dedication to the Atlantic City community.
The event featured Bashira Khan as the guest speaker, who delivered an insightful presentation on financial literacy, offering attendees valuable knowledge on saving and smart money habits.
Alongside the honors and speeches, the luncheon included vibrant dancing and a fun raffle, creating a festive atmosphere filled with empowerment and connection.
