The December edition of the City of Atlantic City’s *‘Great Day’ Gazette* is now available, filled with stories of holiday joy and community impact.

As 2024 ended, Atlantic City celebrated a year of progress under Mayor Marty Small Sr.’s leadership. The city achieved 94% of its 124 goals, including a fifth consecutive tax decrease, improvements in public safety, and major infrastructure upgrades. Looking ahead, projects like the City Hall Courtyard and Pop Lloyd Stadium renovations, along with the launch of the Great Day Atlantic City initiative, signal continued growth. Mayor Small highlighted the importance of collaboration in these successes and looks forward to an even brighter 2025.

Last night, Santa Claus swapped his sleigh for a fire engine as he joined the Atlantic City Fire Department to spread holiday cheer in Bungalow Park. Riding through the neighborhood, Santa greeted families, bringing festive joy to all. A special thanks to Council President Randolph and the Bungalow Park Civic Association for making this holiday event possible. It was a heartwarming evening full of community spirit, holiday lights, and smiles!

Atlantic City seniors wrapped up 2024 with a fun and informative Technology Class, hosted by Senior Services. The session covered topics like e-scams, iPhone vs. Android debates, and popular apps like Cash App and WhatsApp, with a memorable moment being seniors learning to take timed selfies. They also shared ideas for next year’s classes, setting the stage for a dynamic 2025. This program reflects the city’s commitment to empowering residents, particularly seniors, through technology, helping them stay connected and confident in today’s digital world.

As 2024 draws to a close, Atlantic City Senior Services continues to make a lasting impact. Today, in partnership with the American Red Cross, we hosted a CPR and First Aid Certification Course for our dedicated building captains. This initiative ensures that community leaders are equipped with lifesaving skills, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to safety and preparedness in Atlantic City.

The City of Atlantic City’s Annual Winter Wonderland Parade illuminated the iconic Boardwalk on Saturday, December 7, 2024, with its biggest and most magical procession yet. Over 80 groups participated, more than doubling last year’s parade and creating a spectacular holiday celebration. The event featured dazzling floats, marching bands, and special appearances by Santa, Mrs. Claus, and even the Grinch, spreading festive cheer throughout the city.

The initiative offers a lifeline to ten individuals who were identified by the City’s Homeless Outreach team during their daily homeless sweeps throughout Atlantic City.
