On Friday, January 24, 2025, the Chelsea Economic Development Corporation hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of ByrdCage, a groundbreaking LGBTQ+ hotspot in Atlantic City. Created by award-winning party planner Jason Tell, ByrdCage is the first full-time LGBTQ+ friendly space to open in the city since 2004.
The ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter for the LGBTQ+ community, offering an inclusive space for all to enjoy events like drag shows, brunch, happy hour specials, and themed nights. Local government officials, along with the ByrdCage Team, were in attendance to officially open the venue and enjoy a light brunch with invited guests and media.
