Day 1 of our drum lessons was an absolute success and the start of something special!
This exciting new initiative is a collaboration between Atlantic City Recreation, Atlantic City Youth Services, and the Chicken Bone Beach Historical Foundation, aimed at introducing youth to the art of drumming. Over the next six weeks, participants will immerse themselves in the world of rhythm and drumming, with the ultimate goal of forming a youth drumline that will perform at recreational games and community events across Atlantic City.
On Day 1, our young drummers got their first hands-on experience, learning the basics of drumming, working on timing, rhythm, and coordination. Their energy and enthusiasm were infectious, and we could already see the potential in each of them! It's inspiring to watch as they begin to develop their skills and get a taste of what it means to work as a team to create music.
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible instructor, Mr. Tony, who brought his passion, experience, and expertise to the class. His encouragement and patience set the tone for a positive and fun learning environment, and we know the students are in great hands as they embark on this musical journey.
This program isn’t just about learning to drum—it’s about fostering teamwork, building confidence, and creating a sense of community through music. We are so excited to watch these young musicians grow over the next few weeks as they work together to build a drumline that will not only represent their talent but also showcase the spirit of unity and pride within Atlantic City.
We can’t wait to see how they continue to develop their skills, and we look forward to seeing them perform at our local recreational events.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this first session—we hope you had as much fun as we did. We’ll see you all tomorrow for Day 2, where we’ll continue to learn, play, and drum our way to success!
