The City of Atlantic City was proud to have a strong presence at the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ "Career Connection Fair" during the New Jersey State League of Municipalities Conference. This event provided a unique platform for young professionals to share their insights and experiences in local government careers.
A special shout-out goes to Tim Aboderin (IT Department), Jorge Llosa Davila (Purchasing Department), Ayana Plummer (Planning & Development), and Alexxus Young (Business Administration)—all of whom spoke with college students from across the state about their paths to government employment and the value of working in municipal service. Their stories highlighted the diverse and impactful roles that younger generations are playing in shaping the future of government.
In addition, Mayor Small addressed the students, emphasizing that while obtaining a college degree is a significant milestone, the journey of growth and contribution doesn’t end there. He also spoke about his ongoing efforts to recruit more young people into municipal government roles, encouraging students to explore the many opportunities available within their communities.
This event was a great opportunity to engage the next generation of leaders and inspire them to consider careers in public service.
