Atlantic City Introduces New Street Cleaning Vehicles

By:

The Atlantic City Department of Public Works is stepping up its efforts to maintain cleaner streets with the addition of six brand-new Madvac cleaning vehicles and a state-of-the-art street sweeper. These vehicles are now actively servicing neighborhoods across the city, enhancing efficiency and improving cleanliness for residents.

Each of the six Madvac vehicles is dedicated to one of Atlantic City’s six wards, allowing Public Works crews to access and clean areas that traditional sweepers cannot, such as curbs, sidewalks, gutters, and drains.

“This is a very big deal for the Department of Public Works and our Sanitation Division since our previous equipment was rapidly aging,” said Public Works Supervisor James Grams. “Our residents will be very happy with the performance of these new machines and the cleaner streets they will notice as a result.”

The upgrade comes as a welcome improvement, as the department’s previous Madvac and sweeper equipment, dating back to 2005-2011, had become increasingly difficult to maintain due to aging parts and obsolete components.

With this investment in modern cleaning technology, the city reaffirms its commitment to providing efficient services and ensuring a cleaner, healthier environment for all its residents and visitors.
